Classification – dry white wine, PGI Thebes.
Varietal Composition - Kontoura 100%.
Vineyard - “Episkopi” at the South-East slopes of mountain Helicon, altitude 380-420 m, soil clay and gravel.
Vinification - low temperature fermentation in stainless-steel tanks. The wine matures on the fine lees for 12 months in stainless steel-tanks and another 4 months in French oak barrels. Following that the wine is bottled and matures in bottles for 6-8 months.
Eye - pale lemon with yellow-gold notes.
Nose - aromas of citrus, lemon, pineapple and melon with almond and vanilla notes.
Palate - taste is mellow, creamy, layered, complex of mature tropical fruit and honey, acidity is refreshing, average to high, body is medium with long aftertaste.
Pairing Suggestions - fish & white meat (chicken, pork), and dishes that have herbal notes, salinity and creamy flavors.
Best served at 16 °C.
