Classification – dry red wine, PGI Central Greece.
Varietal Composition - Merlot 70%, Mouhtaro 30%.
Vineyard - Merlot vineyard, altitude 280-320 m, soil clay, Mouhtaro vineyard, altitude 380-420 m, soil clay and gravel, at the Southern slopes of mountain Helicon.
Vinification - average temperature 23-25 °C during the fermentation in stainless-steel tanks. Final extraction period 6-8 days. The two grape varieties ferment separately, the blend is made after the end of the malolactic fermentation for each of the wines.
Eye - ruby red color.
Nose - aromas of sour black fruit (sour cherry, red berries of the forest) & sweet spice (cinnamon).
Palate - acidity is refreshing, average to high with mellow and round tannins, taste of crispy sour black fruit, butter, caramel & cinnamon, body is medium with long aftertaste.
Pairing Suggestions - dishes that have ripe fruity notes, red meat stewed, red sauce with sweet spice.
Best served at 16-18 °C.
