Classification – dry red wine, PGI Central Greece.
Varietal Composition - Merlot 50%, Mouhtaro 50%.
Vineyard - Merlot vineyard, altitude 280-320 m, soil clay, Mouhtaro vineyard, altitude 380-420 m, soil clay and gravel, at the Southern slopes of mountain Helicon.
Vinification - average temperature 25-28 °C during the fermentation in stainless-steel tanks. Final extraction period 8-10 days. The two grape varieties ferment separately, the blend is made after the end of the malolactic fermentation for each of the wines and its maturation for 12 months in French oak barrels (second & third use).
Eye - ruby red color.
Nose - aromas of sour black fruit (sour cherry, red berries of the forest), vanilla, chocolate, cacao & sweet spice (cinnamon).
Palate - acidity is refreshing, average to high with mellow and round tannins, taste of crispy sour black fruit, butter, caramel & cinnamon, body is medium with long aftertaste.
Pairing Suggestions - dishes that have ripe fruity notes, red meat stewed, red sauce with sweet spice.
Best served at 16-18 °C.
