Venetsanos Liastos, 2016, 9.5%, 0.375 L
Classification – naturally sweet red wine from sundried grapes, PGI Cyclades.
Varietal Composition - Mandilaria 100%.
Vineyard - from “Agia Marina” vineyard nearby Megalochori village.
Vinification - overripe grapes are sundried for 7-15 days. Then destemmed and pressed. The sweet red juice ferments slowly for more than 2 months in stainless-steel tanks at a controlled temperature. After the end of fermentation, the naturally sweet wine is transferred to oak barrels in order to mature for several years.
Eye - tawny color.
Nose - distinct aromas of dried fig, plum, and spices.
Palate - a viscous wine with luscious texture. The ripe berry balances on a graceful acidity lace. Warm, fleshy, and firm with concentrated aromas of raisin, cinnamon, and jammy red fruits.
Pairing Suggestions - an excellent choice to accompany a duck with chestnuts and an orange dish. Roquefort, kopanisti, and other salty cheeses will guide your senses to another level. White cream desserts match perfectly too.
Best served at 8-10 °C.
